The Museum Is Multiple presents the recent history of the Van Abbemuseum in a layered and carefully constructed way. What struck the student jury especially was the playful and insightful use of infographics, which offer fresh, visual interpretations of the collection and curatorial strategies. This approach, created by Studio Joost Grootens, adds rhythm and clarity to the book’s structure.

A strong interplay of typography, color, and paper choices brings the publication to life. The visual language is clean yet dynamic, supporting the complexity of the content without overwhelming it. The mix of reflective essays, curatorial dialogues, archival material, and visual mapping makes The Museum Is Multiple not only a rich historical document but also an inspiring example of how design and discourse can align to tell an institutional story.
