The whole panel fell as one for this compact yet bulky book, which was accordingly straight away placed on the list at the preselection stage. Even those with no interest in religion are likely to find themselves tempted to look into this bible. The super-fine paper provides perfect support for the refined, elegant typography and provides the ultimate feel of bible paper. You have to look twice to see the cross on the front cover. The combination of monochrome and gold in the text is most effective. The fact that the part of the letter b printed on the fore-edge doesn’t line up perfectly with the cover is a pity but in no way detracts from the general enthusiasm for this edition.
