This is almost the shortest entry in this year’s judges’ report. There was no debate whatever: a unanimous vote determined that this book belonged in The Best Dutch Book Designs 2016. It is a collection of sheets printed in cheerful dayglow colours on one side only and folded crosswise, and then, heads uncut, held together by centre stitching. Martens’s last book had more variety but the prints in this one are much brighter and more attractive.
