This book, containing Folkert de Jong’s oeuvre, was designed in just two weeks. Two weeks! There are around 1500 images in the book, selected from an archive of 150,000 images. Where other books are “verzorgd” in the spirit of meticulously design, Ministry of Fear/Foam is chaotic. Instead of loading images into a selected few grids it seems image placement was done randomly, and the effect is very charming. You never know what to expect when you turn a page in this book.
