Debaltsevo, Where Are You? is a story of a photographer Karine Zenja Versluis trying to explore her family history in the city of Debaltseve in the Donbass, Ukraine. Since the beginning of the search in 2013 everything turned out differently than expected. The book deals very delicately with this important and close topic. The editing of images and texts is done in such a way that allows the reader to become part of the stories and feel the emotions. Sometimes you have an image on a spread, sometimes they are located in a sequence together with text. All and all the words, the images, the space in the book, and the space book provides feel important, relevant and close.
