I had a certain ‘feeling’ about this book the first time I held it in my hands. The cover, ever so clean with one photograph printed on top of it at its center. No title, no author, no nothing. To me, it really worked. I would describe it as an inviting kind of ‘oddity.’ Then, upon opening the book and browsing to its pages, it was becoming more evident why I had felt the way I felt. Exosphere consisted out of a meticulously curated collection of images. Batia Suter positioned and balanced said images out throughout the page in such a curious way, that I could then on my part imagine why the book received the title that it did. Placing everyday objects in a new light, made me question (my own) limits of perception and conception. Visually, I adored the size of the book, it added to the photographic subjects within the whole collection. The thickness and weight of the cover and backing, being slightly heavier than the rest of the pages, but still being flexible nonetheless is something I recall mostly about this book. Such a delight to dive into, and a pleasure to the keen eye!
