Eindexamencatalogus 2008-2009 ArtEZ Art & Design

This year’s presentation of the graduands at the college of art in Arnhem took the form of six stapled gatherings held together by an accordion-fold cover. On the outside this cover is matt white, but on the inside it is brilliant glossy red. These six cahiers look at the graduands in each discipline, the designers in each case looking for different ways of presenting them and their products in photographs. In every respect the result is an extraordinarily successful whole and a model of what originality should be. It positively reeks of the fun they had making it – no mean feat in a genre that is prone to descend into routine. The panel also appreciated the fact that rather than bringing in a designer from outside, those responsible had plumped for two
students.
