Every year the Stedelijk presents the most beautiful books of the past year. Despite all the corona effects, the raw materials crisis and now the energy crisis, the book appears to be very much alive as a cultural expression.
A total of 328 books were submitted, significantly more than last year (278). The jury met for the sixtieth time. This selection includes a variety of books: technical masterpieces and conceptual thinkers, introverted and exuberant books, books by world famous designers as well as by students and books published by publishers, institutes or self-published.
The expert jury focused mainly on the refinement of design and content, while the student selection includes more daring and experimental publications.
Both selections can be seen from October 8 to November 6, 2022.
