Each year the Stedelijk and The Best Dutch Book Designs present the best book productions of the past year. From October 18 through January 5, 2025, the 33 books selected by the expert jury from 282 entries will be on display. They were chosen because they excell in design, printing and binding technique, lithography and commissioning. The selection includes novels, poetry, art, photography and architecture books, non-fiction, and children’s books. In addition to the 33 books chosen by the jury, the student jury’s selection will also be on display.  A total of 54 books (12 books both juries chose).

To reflect on this year’s selection, the Stedelijk is also presenting two works of artist Ed Ruscha: Ever Building on the Sunset Strip (1966) and Dutch Details (1971), showcasing the innovative binding styles featured in many of this year’s books.
