The catalogue The Best Dutch Book Designs 2023 was designed by Studio Another Day (Yorick de Vries and Niek Does). It consists of the jury’s findings (jury report), all technical details of the 33 publications completed with photographs of the exterior and interior. Philosopher Stine Jensen wrote a special declaration of love “Be covetous”.
The selection of 33 books was sorted by the designers into six different categories on the basis of the type of paper used. They have found six paper types distributed by Igepa Nederland that correspond to these six categories. These are: Forever Rouge 120gsm, Forever Purple 120gsm, Holmen Trnd 2.0 70gsm., Emotion Pure Natural 1.5 120gsm., Emotion Pure High White 1.5 120gsm., Emotion Pure White 1.5 120gsm., Emotion Smooth High White 120gsm., Emotion Touch Natural White 1.8 90gsm. and Maxi Gloss 130gsm.
Six printers were involved: NPN Drukkers, Pantheon, RaddraaierSSP, robstolk®, Wilco Art Books and Pascal Walters. Van Hees Patist did the binding and KuiperDonse the embossing.
