This book really caught our attention right away. Six impossible things before breakfast has no clear direction, no front and no back. It somehow lets go of hierarchy, order, time or chronology. The unbinded folded stack of paper feels very nice in your hands. It also allows you to rearrange the papers, take them out, play with them, which somehow beautifully describes the journey across twenty-five years of Verzameld Werk [Collected Work]—an open house in the heart of Ghent. A playground for designers and guests, architects and artists. The pages consist of images, which are photographs of the edited images from and around the Verzameld Werk. A small booklet inside includes a prose poem which serves as a response to newly formed imagery. This combination in editorial and bookmaking approach results in a new story, not a static document of what only was.
