The essence of Felwa is found in its layers. The varied paper type layers visible on the exterior of the book block foreshadow the narrative of the photobook. The exploration of the facets of nature is evident in the structural organization of the book, peeling back one layer after the other in a concentric nature. Although silver was quite a trend this year, the use of silver in the images and text is an exemplary application because it refers back to the methodology of the photographer, analog photography, in tandem with the perforated hole on the outside of the book. The imagery displayed is not limited to typical research documentation but explores a variety of lens-based documentation and translation to print.
