It’s all about playfulness in this book, starting with its story: DESET! is a card game presented at the exhibition Ondertussen in Stroom in 2021, where players create their own rules, resulting in a unique game each time. Through observing these improvised games, the artist explores how rules are formed and abandoned, highlighting the role of creativity and social interaction. The jury was inspired by the way in which the importance of the codified language on which the publication is based was blended with the printing process: Risography and its vividly colored flat tints. The book object becomes a sensory playground, whose enigmatic content at first glance reveals itself as an invitation to rethink thought formats. The choice of relatively transparent paper on the inside and textured paper on the cover give body to an object that stands out in the selection.
