Jeremy Jansen designed the catalogue The Best Dutch Book Designs 2024. It consists of the jury’s findings (jury report), all technical details of the 30 publications completed with photographs of the exterior and interior. He explains: “Inspiration came from The Fairburn System of Visual Reference and its idiotic but rather beautiful ambition to document every possible angle of a movement, object, or gesture. There’s something both obsessive and strangely poetic in the idea of fully understanding something by recording it from all sides.”
To bring it to life, Jansen choose The Book Photographer (Justina Nekrasaite). “This book is not about perfection. It’s about the process. About representation. And about the strange but sincere ambition of trying to do justice to books through another book.”
The catalogue has been printed by NPN Printing, RaddraaierSSP, robstolk®, Wilco Art Books, Pascal Walters and Saen Screen. It is bound by Van Hees – Patist Boekbinders and Boekbinderij Abbringh.
The interior paper is Holmen Vintage, supplied by Igepa. The binding textile is Brillianta, supplied by Van Heek Textiles.
