The 33 Best Dutch Book Designs 2021 are known. At the international judging The Best Book Design from all over the World (Leipzig), the Dutch selection was awarded the two highest prizes:<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Golden Letter<\/strong>, the award for the most outstanding book, goes to On the Necessity of Gardening<\/em>, published by Valiz in collaboration with. Centraal Museum Utrecht (Laurie Cluitmans (final ed.), design: Bart de Baets; production Wilco Art Books)<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Gold Medal<\/strong> goes to Met Stoelen<\/em>, designed, made and published by Kuan-Ting, Chen, a third-year student at the Graphic Design Department at ArtEZ Arnhem.<\/p>\n

Of the 328 books submitted, 33 books were awarded:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 5 books belong to the category ‘prose, poetry, graphic novel and children’s book’:
\nAna Pesoa \u2013 Mary John<\/em> (Em. Querido’s), Henna Goudzand Nahar, Hedy Tjin \u2013 On the back of Bigi Kayman<\/em> (Em. Querido’s), Alfred Schaffer \u2013 Zo heb ik u lief<\/em> (De Bezige Bij), Bette Westera, Sylvia Weve \u2013 Seks is niks geks<\/em> (Samsara), Annette Behrens, Carina Hesper \u2013 Toffe Peren: Het Kinderboek<\/em> (Stichting Toffe Peren)
\n\u2022 Of the two major Bible editions in 2021, the Bible of the Dutch-Flemish Bible Society, designed by Studio Joost Grootens, was awarded.
\n\u2022 The design duo Haller Brun is best represented with three books: Shallow Waters<\/em> (Onomatopee), Momentum of Light<\/em> (Lars M\u00fcller Publishers), A Dance of Light and Shadow<\/em> (Beppe Kessler).<\/p>\n

Traditionally, the Best Dutch Book Designs are exhibited in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in the autumn. At that same moment the catalogue will be published, this year designed by designer duo PutGootink.<\/p>\n
